Default So, yay for being a victim of /report abuse?

I were playing 55hp monk in RA and got reported by my whole team for leeching....

I wasnt leeching, I was playing RANDOM arenas. I am allowed to play any build I like right?

It isnt against the rules to play a 55hp infuser with chillblains and signet of agony, its fun for me.

XD

Griefing is a reportable offense. If your whole team reports you, then you did something wrong, maybe?

They are misusing the report system, you can play any build you like.

Anet will check them and take action against false reports.

Like 5 people in an RA dist are insulting me now and tellind everyone to report me for playing 85hp

GG Anet, your Report system F***ing blows.

I played 85 HP. First time I sacced, second time I got killed by a warrior. I got reported by 6 people for leeching.

How the heck is that doing anything wrong?

I ALWAYS used to play gimmick builds in RA for a laugh, but this report system takes the piss.

The OP has a legitimate point. What if it was a brand new player, with no PVP experience whatsoever, who went into Random Arenas with a piss-poor build? Would he be reported because his build sucked, or because he didnt know the map, or how to interact with his team?

It takes a deliberate effort to make a build like OP's. He's a griefer. He deserved what he got.

It's called an Anti-Griefing system for a reason, I'd imagine, rather than Anti-Leeching system.

The act of joining games for the purpose of annoying your team, and reducing their chances of winning could easily be construed as griefing, and this isn't any kind of spin on the matter. It's been called griefing prior to the introduction of the system, it just wasn't considered punishable before.

I think there's a case to be made here, but not over this. I think this is the system working-as-intended.

Ah, but he was reported for leeching, not griefing. Doesn't give you much confidence in the system when these reports are obviously not read. I do agree playing an invinci monk in RA is horrible - not too hard to beat, but horrible non-the-less. But if he was indeed reported for leeching, and was banned, when he obviously wasn't leeching at all, but griefing, it doesn't fill you with much confidence in the system. Got beaten? Report them for leeching.

Im sorry, but I have ALWAYS played sac monk, invinci monk, or geo tank in RA for a laugh. Im not Griefing.

Once me and a R10 friend teamed up in TA and entered to get two random others. We used to /rank then sac and type RAWR. Other people actually found it really funny as well (if lol and haha actually mean /laugh).

It isnt against the game rules to combine the skills and runes that Anet have provided us. If there is a problem with it, nerf the skills so it cant be done, like the pestilence necro build that got nerfed (I used to play that loads BTW, I found it fun).

You're running into the issue of whether something was intentional or not. Then, there's the issue of, at what point does playing for fun become griefing.

Regarding the first issue, I could play really badly on purpose - would you be able to prove it? e.g., I could monk and prot the wrong people, heal 5 seconds too late, etc. There are all kinds of ways to screw your team without making it look intentional - all you have to do is emulate a bad player.

Maybe I go to RA to try out experimental builds. Or maybe I just like to play some things for fun - shocking shortbow + thunderclap, for instance. Why should I be penalized just because someone doesn't like my build? So now Random Areans is play-to-win?

If you're going to argue that anything that reduces chances of winning, or, similarly, anything that does not contribute to winning, constitutes griefing, then you are simply helping the argument of the people who spam-quit RA. If I join a team where the people suck or run bad builds, they are reducing my chances of winning, so I shouldn't have to play with them, right? Put another way, if I see a wammo with dolyak sig, glad's defense, and riposte, should I report him as griefing?

The system doesn't work, because there's rarely an objective way to look at each case. Simply because the other three guys on your team think you are griefing doesn't mean you actually are.

Anyway, griefing isnt on the list for reports. And again, using whatever skill combinations, and whatever runes and armor I want isnt against the rules of the game.

The skills are there. We can use them.

Now im gonna play an 85 HP mending + life attunement bonder with frenzy + heal sig.
